The pathetic people who see peril in Palin…and those who continue to dupe them…

I continue to be amazed by the Palin factor.

60,000 turned out to see her in Florida the other day. She and that guy she’s running with will be here in my neck of the woods today, in southeastern PA. Wish I could go, but can’t wait to see it on the news tonight.

I continue to get emails from breathless dupes about the latest “terrifying facts” about Sarah, and I can’t help but think: “friend, I hardly knew ye.” I knew we disagreed on politics, but I didn’t realize how much you feared and hated people like me, and how sadly reliant you were on the NYT and NPR, ere now. We are in dire straits here in the US, and it isn’t because of Sarah Palin. It’s because our news media (remember that “sacred trust” stuff they’re always talking about, and the importance of a “free press”?) has literally become nothing more than a propaganda machine.

The good news is, I think that Obamania has caused them to go so far out of whack that only the most mesmerized NYT devotees can fail to recognize the naked, frantic partisanship that passes for reportage in this campaign. Others take a dimmer view. I remain an optimist, as I have always been, by nature.

One of the most astounding things that I came across this morning was this item from the Jawa Report. Only my latent optimism causes me to be stunned by such an egregious affront to our political process, and I hope that the “new media” will cause this to be a major Wile E. Coyote moment for the old media, and the Obamarama they support. This is really beyond the pale, beyond belief. And it is the reason that so many of my well-educated friends think they have to email me to snap me out of my McCain/Palin vote. Pathetic. We need a new test for voting rights: Do you read the New York Times and take it seriously? I’ll add to this post later in rolling fashion, if I have time, but right now I’ve got a lot of reading to do for class tomorrow.

Chris is thinking that he’s “got” the blues….I hope the rest of the folks do, too.

The Anchoress comments here on the amazing work of the Jawa Report…isn’t that the kind of political reporting the NY Times used to do?? Absolutely remarkable…isn’t this what we used to watch “60 Minutes” for, instead of that patently biased crap they offered last night? What the hell is wrong with “Fourth Branch” in this country?? I am seething.

I mean, come on, folks, shouldn’t “winnergate” be on Nightline tonight? Jeez….remember the famous DemocRATS controversy, and how the MSM talked about that for weeks???

Congratulations to the asshat MSM, you’ve managed to resurrect the “broken glass Republicans,” and instill within us an urge to protect our own.
