A good night for Joe the plumber….
The Phillies take the pennant, and McCain holds his own against Obamessiah! WooHoo!. Back in the morning.

OK, it’s morning in America, and I’m back. Obviously, the Phillies did great. Cole Hamels got the MVP, which is fine, but my personal favorite in the post-season has been Shane Victorino. Anyway, how crazy is this: Major League Baseball has agreed to postpone Game 6 of the World Series so that FOX Sports can run the Obamamercial. I mean, how weird can we get, here. I look at it two ways: One, it could be an omen that the Phillies will take it in five. Or, it could be the final act of hubris that will prove to be Obamessiah’s undoing. How sick of him will normal people be when he cancels a World Series game so we can listen to a full half hour of his self-worship? Stay tuned on that one. I liked this comment at HotAir:
Damn it. What’s next? Apple pie coming with an O stamped in the crust?
On the debate: I thought McCain’s tone and content were just right, and he got some good pokes in at the empty suit. I was very impressed with Schieffer , who often annoys me…he was by far the fairest and best debate moderator this election season. Good for him.
I liked it when McCain referred to “Joe the Plumber” by his full name in the first instance–”Joe Wurzelbacher”; I thought that Obama sounded condescending when he responded, calling him “Joe the Plumber,” and that McCain blew a big opportunity when he fell into the same vernacular, instead of referring to a real citizen by his real name. Dumb. McCain should have asked Obama if he even knew the man’s last name….I’ll bet he didn’t, and it could have been a historic gotcha moment. Just like when Obama didn’t even know the name of the soldier whose wristband he was wearing.
Also condescending were Obama’s repeated, Bidenesque smirks directed toward the moderator, which struck me as juvenile and unpresidential.
Neo-neocon boldly live-blogged the debate, also noting Schieffer’s competence, which really was unique in this pathetic MSM year. She also astutely notes Joe the Plumber’s resemblence to Mr. Clean. Heh.
Rachel Lucas totally captured my reaction to Frank Lunz’s post-debate “focus group,” although she said it much more colorfully (I just said “This is bullshit.”):
Those “independent†voters in the Lunz focus group? LIARS. FUCKING LIARS. There is no way a rational adult walked into this debate “totally undecided†and came away from it in the bag for Barack Obama. LIARS. These people are not operating in the same reality as normal thinking human beings. I’m too flummoxed and speechless to say anything else, after watching the post-debate analysis. Sleep. Nightmares. Socialism. Wealth redistribution. Doom. Ammo. Tacos.
Fausta picked up on Obamessiah’s condescension bigtime, and has lots of video links to America’s new plumbing superhero….
StickerShock:
His name is Wurzelbacher. He has a shaved head. Hmmmm…..How long before the lefty kook fringe starts calling him a skinhead neoNazi?

Hmmm, good point. How dare he challenge a black guy’s tax plan….clearly racist.

Joe is America’s new sex symbol. No matter who wins, you know that Joe is getting an invitation to the Inauguration. Wherever the McCain campaign travels, they should head to the local Home Depot (maybe they’ll run into Joe Biden) and buy up every plunger on the shelves & hand them out at rallies. A lipstick in one hand, a plunger in the other.

Remember that “I am Sarah Palin” video? How about a cross section of America represented. People of all races ages, and both genders facing the camera & stating, “I am Joe the Plumber.”
