Has Joe the Plumber caused an uprising of the Bitter Clingers?
There’s something happening here
What it is ain’t exactly clear
There’s a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to bewareI think it’s time we stop, children, what’s that sound
Everybody look what’s going down

I have no illusions about who Stephen Stills will be voting for, but something’s happening here. The Gallup “likely voter” poll has McCain within two. McCain was hilarious last night at the Alfred Smith dinner [Part 2 Here]…..Obamessiah seems to not have gotten the memo about bringing a funny speech (he had a few good lines, but McCain made real political points).
I have heard (but have not yet seen, myself) that McCain was on Letterman last night, and skewered Dave pretty effectively and had the audience laughing at the host for a change.
There’s battle lines being drawn
Nobody’s right if everybody’s wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Getting so much resistance from behindI think it’s time we stop, hey, what’s that sound
Everybody look what’s going down
So, I got a secret message this morning from Pennsylvania Republican headquarters….had to get my secret decoder ring out and everything. Guess who’s coming back to Pennsy tomorrow? Cindy McCain will be in Scranton, and Sarah Palin will be in Lancaster. I think the MSM and the DNC must have forgotten to tell them that the race is over…..the McCain gals are back to rouse the Bitter Clingers to counteract the corrupt voter registration practices of Obama’s satellite group ACORN in Philly and Pittsburgh. Good for them, as happy a pair of warriors as I ever saw. This thing ain’t over.
What a field-day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly say, hooray for our sideIt’s time we stop, hey, what’s that sound
Everybody look what’s going down
Expect to see thousands of people in the streets. You do know that “bitter clinger” has always been code for “Great Silent Majority,” right? This is not over, and the stakes are as high as they have ever been. As Ed Morrissey said, there is a “stench of desperation” surrounding the MSM/Obama attacks on Joe the Plumber.
There is a stench of desperation surrounding this, as if they sense defeat coming from a moment of honesty from Obama about his real intentions to institute a regime of redistribution. They want to discredit the man who only asked the question as if he’s some political operative who magically forced Obama to sound … well, a little like a Marxist. Why? They want to distract people from Obama’s answer by sliming the man Obama picked at random to ask a question.
Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you’re always afraid
You step out of line, the man come and take you awayWe better stop, hey, what’s that sound
Everybody look what’s going down
From the WSJ this morning:
Though we doubt most Americans realize it, this would be one of the most profound political and ideological shifts in U.S. history. Liberals would dominate the entire government in a way they haven’t since 1965, or 1933. In other words, the election would mark the restoration of the activist government that fell out of public favor in the 1970s. If the U.S. really is entering a period of unchecked left-wing ascendancy, Americans at least ought to understand what they will be getting, especially with the media cheering it all on.
There’s a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to beware
I think it’s time we stop, children, what’s that sound
Everybody look what’s going down
Listen to your inner Bitter Clinger, he’s tellin’ you it’s time to beware, and he’s right, just as he usually is. Pay attention. This thing ain’t over.
Read Neoneocon’s take here.
Chirpy Katie is now wearing a Sarah Palin hairdo, like all the really cool chicks. But where are her “Tina Fey glasses“?? And what about her shoes?
UPDATE: What is it about the impending end of the world that makes people start thinking about Tolkien? I don’t know, but it’s fun, and inspirational.
Martin Nesbitt, the treasurer of Obama’s campaign, has tax liens. So do his companies, but by all means, let’s go after Joe The Plumber! | Right Voices:
