“The rancid heart that beats beneath the blow-dry…”

Be still my heart….that is poetry. That gets filed right in the “I wish I had said that” department. The writer is John Nolte, from the indispensable new blog “Big Hollywood,” where one can always find something profound, yet entertaining.
The subject was a new documentary that somehow escaped notice during the Oscars last night: John Zeigler’s Media Malpractice: How Obama Got Elected and Palin Was Targeted. I know….Obama won, and we’re supposed to “give him a chance” (as if we had a choice) because “he’s everybody’s president now,” just like George W. Bush was during that long honeymoon he got.
Forget Obama’s myriad shortcomings for the moment, this is about Brownshirts. Yes, you read that correctly. Zeigler reminds us of Alinsky’s famous quote, taken to heart by modern “liberals” and their propagandist partners in the MSM: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” This is a Brownshirt tactic, and this is what is done, under the guise of “political correctness,” to anyone who dares challenge the leftist juggernaut we are now witnessing. Whether the subject is “the stimulus package,” or “global warming,” “abortion rights,” or “gay marriage,” we are told by these rancid talking heads that “the debate is over.”
Narrative or documentary, all good films have a moment that stay with you long after the credits roll, and there’s one here that put a chill down my spine. Directly after Palin’s triumphant acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention, which, in effect, made complete fools of all those involved in the coordinated three-day media attempt to destroy her beforehand, NBC anchorman Brian Williams took to the air and read, word for word, a manifesto written by Time magazine’s very partisan Joe Klein demanding the media not relent in their destruction of her. His piece was littered with lies, including the scurrilous one furthered by Charlie Gibson about Palin claiming God was on our side in Iraq, even though a videotape of the event proves otherwise.
Watching Brian Williams, who up to that point had always come off as a slightly befuddled Dad right out of a 50’s sitcom, trumpet a partisan character assassination and call to arms his media cohorts is a revealing look at the rancid heart that beats beneath the blow dry. It’s also a warning.
I’ve ordered my copy.

I have a sister-in-law who knew Brian Williams back when he attended Brookdale Community College. He was a pompous ass then & not much has changed. I’m wondering if he includes BCC on his resume…..

Just checked his bio: “Williams attended George Washington University and the Catholic University of America, both in Washington, and is the recipient of honorary Doctorates from Elmira College and Providence College.” No mention of Brookdale Community. Why not???? LOL!

Interesting bio, that. At least I managed to graduate college, after multiple tries. Imagine Sarah Palin having a resume like this, and then try to imagine why no one sees the hypocrisy in this man being among her vetters:
How in the world does his Princeton buddy Charlie Gibson tolerate such mediocrity? Good get, StickerShock.

Elementary, my dear Driver…Charlie Gibson is a mediocrity himself. Misery loves company…
