“US warship with helicopters joins pirate standoff”….

Great. We now we have a destroyer and a guided missile frigate with helicopters “observing” a little orange pod floating aimlessly in the ocean with five half-naked third world pirates and one bold U.S. Merchant Marine captain whose escape attempt last night we are now told lasted a half hour. We also have a P-3 Orion surveillance aircraft observing the fearsome pod. There are no doubt U.S. Marines on board the two warships, along with other special operations troops “itching” to go after the pirate/terrorists and destroy their “business model.” In the age of Obamaism, this is a “standoff.”
All we lack is a cowboy president with the gumption to pull the trigger. Because instead we elected a community organizer that we thought would make the rest of the world like us, just like in his world travel experiences at Disney Land.
Krauthammer’s piece this morning was so good it left me speechless for most of the day, but here’s as good a place to put it as any:
And what did he get for [claiming that he will close] Guantanamo? France, pop. 64 million, will take one prisoner. One! (Sadly, he’ll have to leave his swim buddy behind.) The Austrians said they would take none. As Interior Minister Maria Fekter explained with impeccable Germanic logic, if they’re not dangerous, why not just keep them in America?
When Austria is mocking you, you’re having a bad week. Yet who can blame Frau Fekter, considering the disdain Obama showed his own country while on foreign soil, acting the philosopher-king who hovers above the fray mediating between his renegade homeland and an otherwise warm and welcoming world?
After all, it was Obama, not some envious anti-American leader, who noted with satisfaction that a new financial order is being created today by 20 countries, rather than by “just Roosevelt and Churchill sitting in a room with a brandy.” And then added: “But that’s not the world we live in, and it shouldn’t be the world that we live in.”
It is passing strange for a world leader to celebrate his own country’s decline. A few more such overseas tours, and Obama will have a lot more decline to celebrate.
This guy has out-Cartered Jimmy in just a few months.
John Scott Lewinski at Big Hollywood has related thoughts:
In a dangerous and dramatic throwback to eras long thought dead, pirates are once again actively threatening lives and property of honest seafaring men along the African coast.
The situation presents a perfect opportunity for:
A. Hollywood to produce an exciting action/adventure film based on real world events.
B. The American president to make a rousing and pointed statement on his firm support of the rule of international law on the open seas and how he’ll defend the safety of his citizens if endangered anywhere on Earth.
I predict you have a better chance of being abducted by said pirates at your local McDonald’s than you have of seeing either of the above actually occur. Why?  Both Hollywood and Obama are held hostage by the same childish, simple-minded worldview that curses all hard left art and politics (a refrain I’ve sung before and will chirp about again): “The strong are always bad. The weak are always good.â€
StickerShock:
Is this a quote from Obama: “just Roosevelt and Churchill sitting in a room with a brandy.†Or just Krauthammer capturing the essence of Obama’s overseas speeches?????
Be afraid…..be very afraid. Obama would rather have us live in a world threatened by terrorists and pirates than one in which civilized men sought to protect their national interests with reasonably negotiated treaties. Why? Any thing put into place by old white guys drinking brandy must be evil.
I also read that Brown U has voted to change Columbus Day to Fall Celebration Day on the campus.

It’s a direct quote, Sticker. It is his stated goal to remove the U.S. from a position of world leadership to just another member of the peanut gallery.

The worst misatake US is doing,is nurturing some terrorist countries, whch will later turn as teerorist against Us citizens,Day by day these terrorist force is getting stronger, How long can America hold this situation, At present time ,it has power to fight them, but how long?someday America will turn to hell, its people will pay a very high price for its foolishness. When there will be numerous attacks from all terrorist countries. It is now financing and supporting, the breeding ground of terror.
